Evergreen shrubs, Azaleas are at their peak with full floral displays in the Spring months and often lasting several weeks. They are shade tolerant and prefer living under or near trees. Most can grow up to approximately 1m with many varieties remaining small and compact.
There are many floral colours available and the foliage can be spectacular as well. Varieties grown at Lakewood include purpurea, Gretel, Dogwood, Orange Delight, Elizabeth Lawrence, Pride of Dorking, Exquisite, Alba Magnifica, violacea, Only One Earth, Glowing Embers, Terra Nova, Christmas Cheer and many more when optimal material is available for propagation.
