Ixora Coral Fire is a low growing tropical shrub with coral/tangerine coloured flowers. Fleshy foliage is dark green and the new growth is an attractive bronze. The stunning flowers hold their vibrant orange colour if planted in part shade. Planted in full sun, the flowers will initially produce as the vibrant orange and slowly fade over time to give an effective two tone effect across the plant.
Regular pruning encourages a compact dense hedge and is very effective when mass planted. The natural growing habit of Ixora Coral Fire is in a rounded shape to approximately 1 metre high and 1 metre wide.
Ixora Coral Fire grows well in most soil types but needs very good drainage. Fertilise 2-3 times during its peak growing time (Oct – Mar) with a complete fertiliser. Use a slow release fertiliser during other times of the year. Remove spent flowers and tip prune after flowering to retain the shape and the dense appearance.
