Myoporum ellipticum is a hardy native ground cover that grows well on banks to aid in stabilisation and suppressing weeds. Glossy green leaves tolerant of frost and commonly grown in coastal areas facing high winds and salt spray. Also growing well in humid conditions.
Summer time sees masses of tiny white flowers. Growth habit is compact and low growing up to 30cm high and can spread as wide as 5m in optimal conditions. Often seen in coastal community areas, median strips and roundabouts.
